  2. *A Huey P. Newton Story*
Relevant back then and even more relevant now.
    A *Brilliant* one man play.

  3. im from Oakland my father was a panther in his teens. This video is erie,
this actor sounds exactly like Huey and has his mannerisms.

  4. Im a white teenager who supports the black race more than the white, I’m
disgusted to have been a part of a race which caused so much racial
oppression. At the same time Im proud to have Huey P. Newton as my
idol/hero. Its really a damn shame. I wish more than anything to be able to
join the panther organization, but I will stand out as a white teenager
supporting the black race. Keep fighting the good fight! BLACK POWER, RISE
    AGAINST THE OPPRESSION!

  5. did huey ever give this interview in real life? i dont think so and if he
did can some point me in the right direction so i can see it because this
dude is getttin on my nerves and maybe its because he the same dude that
worked for the FBI in the movie panther

  6. dude kinda sound like huey but huey dont talk like that they way this dude
    is talkin is annoying

  7. This a solo play written and (masterfully) preformed by Roger Guenveur
Smith , Spike Lee adapted the performance to the screen. It is an envision
of an alternate history where Huey P Newton is still alive.

  8. Huey P. Newton was and is a hero. He should be remembered for what he
started: The Black Panther because if it was not for him and his friend
starting it, black kids would not be able to eat breakfast in their
schools, black people would not be proud to where Afros, etc The
assumptions that Huey P.Newton was just a “gangster” is simply not true.
Huey P. Newton should be mention with Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr.
He was a gangster because he fought back? he fought for what he believed
    in? #Panther

  9. A great performance but the actor looks like a white guy with curly hair
and a little bit of a tan! Same when he appeared in American Gangster.

  10. Powerful!!! Every time I watch his story I learn more. Makes me wish I had
    lived back then…

  11. Where is the entire sound track for this? I cannot find it anywhere. I love
this sound as he begins to read his poetry. SO SWEET !!

  12. Hoover did not want the BPP educating the children. To instill values that
stresses the importance of education, community involvement and productive
activism in children is a direct threat to society as Hoover and company
    were used to.

  13. It is a shame that Newton died a free man. The racist scoundrel should have
rotten in prison or killed by the police. Newton the murderer got it way
    too easy.

  14. We are caught in the horns of several historical dilemmas; do we as Black
people want to continue to operate within the system that
exploits/oppresses us, if we do not; then by what method to we change it?
Does revolution necessitate violence in and of itself or can there be a
    non-violent revolution?

  15. LETS GET THIS RIGHT: ANY WHITE UP AND COMING ACTOR STARRING IN A MOVIE OF
THIS CALIBRE WOULD BE SHOT INSTANTLY TO SUPERSTARDOM. AS FOR THE MOVIE
ITSELF, WITH ALL ITS INTRICATE, SUBTLE AND ORIGINAL DETAIL IT IS A
    MASTERPIECE IN ITS OWN RIGHT.

  16. the part on little black sambo was very eye opening, not only to America,
but to us as individuals. Never let anyone oppress you in any way! By any
means, know and protect your true identity.

  17. We have just witnessed what a plantation can do to a man. Huey in a box
with no way out to enjoy the sun nor moonlight; the lack of a human touch
is maddening. It is the elite’s way of trying to break one’s being.

  18. Revolution is the tip of the spear that leads to the reform and measures to
change the system (or leads the butt of the spear inside). We need both
revolution and work to change the repressive system. We need to revive the
    black panther party!!
